Conference Experience Chair – Jourdain Henderson, M.Ed. conferenceconnections@theasca.org


Jourdain D. Henderson is an accomplished educator, instructional designer, and student affairs practitioner with over a decade of experience advancing inclusive learning, residential life, and leadership development in higher education. Currently serving as the Assistant Director for Residential Community Development at Georgia State University, he oversees a diverse residential area, collaborates with the Dean of Students Office to implement a residential student conduct process, Fraternity & Sorority Life in the oversight of 9 Greek Townhouses, and leads efforts to foster belonging and inclusion across University Housing.

Prior to joining Georgia State, Jourdain held several roles at George Mason University and the University of West Georgia, including New Student Orientation Coordinator, Residence Hall Director, Area Coordinator, Assistant Director for Residential Education & Community Standards, Student Success Technology Manager, and Adjunct Instructor in Interdisciplinary Studies. There, he designed and taught courses on leadership, identity development, and social justice, while managing residential & student conduct processes and implementing technology solutions to enhance student engagement and success.

With a Master of Education in Professional Counseling and Higher Education Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Special Education—both from the University of West Georgia—Jourdain brings a deep commitment to equity, robust digital learning, professional staff development and student experience & success across all of his work. Jourdain’s approach to everything he does is “nothing beats a failure but a try.”

Hey there! My preferred name is Brown, and for the past 5 years, I’ve been all-in on student conduct, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. There’s something special about helping students learn, grow, and turn mistakes into milestones. I proudly serve as Co-Chair of ASCA’s Awards Committee and am thrilled to dive even deeper into engagement as an Extended Committee Member of the Conference Experience Committee. Creating once-in-a-lifetime experiences for others is my jam, and I can’t wait to keep making an impact with ASCA!

Extended Committee – Saqoya Wilson

Saqoya Wilson, MSW, is a student affairs professional with a dynamic background in social work and higher education. She currently serves as the Student Conduct Coordinator at Florida Gulf Coast University, where she leads educational and accountability-focused conduct processes that support student development, community standards, and campus safety. Her early career in social work centered on advocacy, juvenile justice, and case management equipped her with strong skills in crisis response, equity-minded care, and interdepartmental collaboration. These strengths seamlessly translate into her student conduct practice, where she promotes fairness, personal accountability, and inclusive community building. Saqoya is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Higher Education Administration at Liberty University, focusing on institutional leadership, student retention, and policy development. Her research interests include strengthening communication within conduct systems and enhancing support structures that balance student rights with community responsibility. Known for her thoughtful approach to student advocacy and policy interpretation, Saqoya plays a vital role in shaping campus culture through conduct education, cross-campus partnerships, and procedural integrity. Her leadership style is proactive, compassionate, and student-centered, informed by her direct work with diverse student populations and a systems-level understanding of student affairs. Saqoya remains committed to creating transformative learning environments and fostering ethical decision-making across all levels of student engagement.
